Terms of Service for Mojave

Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using Comprende. By downloading, installing, or using Comprende, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the product.
What This Agreement Covers
These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of Comprende, a software application published by User Group, LLC (“User Group,” “we,” “us,” “our”). Comprende is a developer tool that intercepts AI-generated code and verifies developer comprehension before that code is committed. These terms apply to the desktop application, any associated command-line tools, and the comprende.dev website.
Eligibility
By using Comprende, you affirm that you are at least 18 years of age and capable of entering into a binding legal agreement. If you are using Comprende on behalf of an organization, you agree to these terms on behalf of that organization.
Account and License
Comprende requires a valid license to operate. Licenses are managed through Keygen and validated via a periodic heartbeat check (approximately every 24 hours). You must maintain an active internet connection at least once every 72 hours to keep your license validated. If validation fails after the grace period, Comprende will enter a limited state until connection is restored.
Your license is personal to you (or to the seat allocated by your organization for team and enterprise plans). You may not share, transfer, or sublicense your access to others.
Subscription and Pricing
Comprende is offered as a paid subscription:
Individual: $7 per month, flat rate, no usage limits
Team: $12 per seat per month
Enterprise: Custom annual pricing with org-level license allocation, PO/NET-30 billing available
Payments are processed through Stripe. All fees are non-refundable except where required by law. We may adjust pricing for future billing periods with at least 30 days’ advance notice. Your current billing period will not be affected by price changes.Intellectual Property
All rights, title, and interest in and to Mojave, including all intellectual property rights, remain with us. You may not use our trademarks, logos, or branding without our prior written consent.
What Comprende Does
Comprende operates as middleware between your AI coding tools and your development environment. It intercepts AI-generated code, evaluates complexity, and presents comprehension challenges before allowing code to be committed. Comprende also tracks your comprehension history over time.
Comprende is tool-agnostic and works alongside AI coding assistants including Cursor, VS Code with Copilot, Windsurf, Zed, and others. It does not replace your existing tools — it adds a comprehension verification layer to your workflow.
Privacy and Data Handling
Comprende is a fully local application. Your source code never leaves your machine. Comprende does not collect, transmit, or store your code on any external server.
The only network communication Comprende makes is:

Optional: anonymous, aggregated usage analytics if you opt in

Intellectual Property
Comprende and its underlying technology are the intellectual property of User Group, LLC. Comprende is protected by a provisional patent (USPTO, 2026) covering its comprehension gating methodology. All rights, title, and interest in the software, including its code, design, documentation, and branding, remain with User Group, LLC.
You may not reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or create derivative works based on Comprende. You may not remove or alter any copyright notices, trademarks, or patent pending designations.
Your Content
Any code, comprehension data, session logs, or other content generated through your use of Comprende belongs to you. Because Comprende operates locally, we never have access to your content. We claim no ownership over anything you create or review using Comprende.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
Use Comprende for any unlawful purpose
Attempt to circumvent license validation or the comprehension gating mechanism
Redistribute, resell, or sublicense Comprende
Use automated tools to bypass comprehension checks
Misrepresent your affiliation with User Group, LLC
Service Availability
Comprende is provided as a desktop application and does not depend on cloud infrastructure for its core functionality. However, license validation requires periodic internet access. We will make reasonable efforts to ensure the Keygen validation service remains available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access.
We may release updates to Comprende from time to time, including bug fixes, new features, and security patches. Some updates may be required for continued use.
Your Content
Any code, comprehension data, session logs, or other content generated through your use of Comprende belongs to you. Because Comprende operates locally, we never have access to your content. We claim no ownership over anything you create or review using Comprende.

Comprende is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do our best to build reliable software, but we cannot guarantee it will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that it will catch every comprehension gap. Comprende is a tool to support your development practice — it is not a substitute for professional judgment, code review, or testing.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, USER GROUP, LLC DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
Limitation of Liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, USER GROUP, LLC SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF COMPRENDE, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, REVENUE, OR PROFITS.
Our total aggregate liability for any claims arising from your use of Comprende shall not exceed the greater of (a) $50 or (b) the total amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Termination
You may stop using Comprende at any time by canceling your subscription and uninstalling the application. We may terminate or suspend your license if you violate these terms, with or without notice.
Upon termination, your license to use Comprende is revoked. Sections on intellectual property, liability, warranties, and disputes survive termination.

Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, USA, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of Comprende shall be resolved in the courts of Pinellas County, Florida.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the application or via email. Your continued use of Comprende after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
